Dr. Amy Stephenson, DDS

General Dentist
Growing up in the small, rural community of Brock, Dr. Amy Stephenson participated in many high school activities such as UIL competitions and volleyball. Early in high school she began to seriously consider a career in dentistry and fell in love with the profession after shadowing some local dentists and orthodontists.

After high school graduation, Dr. Stephenson attended Lubbock Christian University where she played college volleyball. It was at LCU that she met her future husband, Aaron, through both their mutual involvement in LCU’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee and their science courses.
She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at UT School of Dentistry in Houston in May of 2019.

Shortly thereafter, Dr. Stephenson and her husband visited the town of Canyon and decided it felt like home. In August of 2019, she began practicing with Dental Group of Amarillo. Amy loves helping both the young and the old, and everyone will appreciate her approach to “gentle dentistry”.

She and her husband are very much looking forward to immersing themselves in the community. They enjoy attending and serving the church, exercising, participating in both water and snow sports, and playing card and board games with family and friends. Dr. Stephenson loves to take her French Bulldog “Roscoe” and Golden Retriever “Boudreaux” on daily walks.

Dr. Gabriela Pita, DDS

General Dentist
Originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, Dr. Gabriela Pita moved to Houston, Texas when she was 14 years old. Dr. Pita attended the University of Houston for her undergraduate studies, where she began to pursue a career in the dental field. She was initially drawn to dentistry by the desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives and through a recognition of the crucial role dental care plays in promoting overall health and well-being.
In 2016, Dr. Pita earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. While in dental school, she was active in numerous dental and service-based organizations, even attending a mission trip to Guatemala to provide dental treatment to impoverished children living in a rural community. Following dental school, Dr. Pita completed her residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was focused on providing affordable dental care for low-income populations. Together, these experiences afforded her the opportunity to witness the transformative effects of a confident and healthy smile on people’s lives.

Dr. Pita is fluent in English and Spanish and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She is passionate about what she does, and strives to create an atmosphere of trust and compassion while providing excellent dental care.

Outside of work, you can find Dr. Pita spending time with her husband, Dr. Ryan Hyde, a fellow dentist, her two beautiful girls, Giuliana and Lilliana, and her puppy, Waffles. She loves to travel, read a good book, and spend time outdoors. Dr. Pita has been practicing Dentistry in Amarillo for over 5 years and looks forward to continuing to build relationships with her patients in the panhandle.

Your Questions, Answered

Q: What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that actively move the teeth to more ideal positions over time. Patients love this treatment because they can re-align their teeth without having to wear traditional metal braces.

Q: Will Invisalign Treatment Suit My Lifestyle?
  • Enjoy snacks anytime: Simply remove your aligners to eat or drink.
  • Prioritize oral hygiene: Take out your Invisalign aligners for regular brushing and flossing.
  • Freedom for special occasions: Occasionally remove your aligners for a night out.
  • Seamless integration: Maintain your daily routine while straightening your teeth.
  • Confidence in your smile: Invisalign aligners are clear, so you can smile without hesitation.
  • Ready for special moments: Easily achieve a picture-perfect smile with Invisalign treatment.
  • Convenient appointments: Align your treatment visits with your schedule for quick progress checks every six weeks.
Q: What Does the Invisalign System Entail?

The Invisalign system offers a nearly invisible method to align your teeth and achieve your desired smile. Utilizing advanced 3D computer imaging technology, Invisalign treatment maps out your entire process, starting from your teeth’s initial positioning to your desired final alignment.

Custom-made clear aligners are then created specifically for your teeth, gradually moving them with each set. You wear each aligner for approximately two weeks before switching to the next in the series, progressing until your teeth reach their desired alignment.

The duration of your Invisalign treatment will be determined by your doctor, tailored to meet your individual requirements.

Q: What Are the Key Advantages of Undergoing Invisalign Treatment?
Invisalign aligners are clear, seamlessly integrating into your lifestyle and social interactions. Their removability offers flexibility; you can enjoy your favorite foods and beverages by simply taking them out while eating. Additionally, you can maintain regular brushing and flossing for fresh breath and optimal oral hygiene.

In contrast to traditional metal braces, Invisalign treatment avoids metal brackets and wires that may irritate your mouth. Moreover, you’ll experience fewer visits to the doctor and appointments, allowing you more time to enjoy your favorite activities.

Finally, with Invisalign treatment technology, you can preview your virtual results and treatment plan beforehand, giving you a glimpse of your future straightened smile.

Q: How Many Individuals Are Undergoing Invisalign Treatment?
Over 5,000,000 patients worldwide have benefited from Invisalign aligners, with the number of Invisalign smiles increasing daily. Feel free to ask any questions during your next appointment, and we can begin your journey to achieving the smile you’ve always desired.
