Dr. Kevin King, DDS

General Dentist

Born and raised in Muleshoe, Dr. King appreciates the panhandle and its people. Upon graduation from Muleshoe High School, Dr. King began his college career at Texas Tech University. It was there that Dr. King met his wife, Rachelle. She grew up in Tahoka, Texas and shared Dr. King’s ties to the area. Dr. King graduated in 1995 with a BS in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry.

After graduation, he began work with Xcel Energy, where he worked for six years. During two of these years, he also ventured into a spraying company, and along with his wife, was employed by the Methodist Church in Muleshoe as youth director. Rachelle is a licensed secondary science teacher, and she taught junior high science in Muleshoe. After years of debating, Dr. King decided to make a career change and pursue his lifelong goal of becoming a dentist.

In 2000, Dr. King was accepted into dental school. It was a life changing experience as he and Rachelle moved their two children, Kaleb and Ashley, to San Antonio where he would attend dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center. In May 2005, Dr. King graduated from dental school with honors in teacher training. After graduation, Dr. King joined the practice of Dr. Moore. Together they formed what is now the Dental Group of Amarillo and have built a great family of patients over the years. Dr. King likes all types of sports and recreation including golf, fly-fishing, and hunting. Dr. King also has devoted his time to the United Way of Amarillo, serving as Cabinet Chair of the Healthcare Division, and as vice-chairman of the Boy Scout’s annual Good Scout Luncheon. He is a member of the Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. Dr. King sees all types of patients and loves working with children.

Dr. Max Shaw

General Dentist

Born and raised in Amarillo, Dr. Shaw is excited to provide care for the people and community that he grew up in. Dr. Shaw attended Amarillo High School and graduated in 2016. He chose to continue his education in the panhandle and attended West Texas A&M University. Dr. Shaw graduated West Texas A&M in 2019 magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Biochemistry while playing collegiate golf for the university.

Dr. Shaw grew up with a love for science and working with his hands. This combination led him to pursue a career in dentistry. His mentor, Dr. King of Dental Group of Amarillo, gave him is first introduction to the field and even hired him on as a dental assistant at Dental Group while he was in college. After undergrad, Dr. Shaw was accepted by UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry and graduated from the program in 2024 with honors in dental education. He received awards from the International College of Dentists, Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry, and was awarded the Comprehensive Dentistry award by UT Health in his senior year.

Dr. Shaw strives to provide high quality holistic dental care and looks forward to helping people with their concerns, no matter how big or small. He believes everyone deserves the same level of attention to provide them with individualized treatment plans. He enjoys staying current on dental literature and learning more about new technology in dentistry. Outside of work, he enjoys all things outdoors. He’ll often be found ridings mountain bikes at PDC, motorcycling, golfing or setting out to explore the nearby mountain ranges in New Mexico or Colorado. Dr. Shaw is an active member in American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Amy Brewton, DDS

General Dentist

Born and raised in Amarillo, Dr. Amy Brewton grew up with a mom as a dental assistant, which led her to dentistry from a young age. She graduated from WTAMU in 2000 with a BS in Biochemistry and moved to San Antonio to attend dental school. She graduated from UTHSCSA Dental School in 2004 but always knew she would return to Amarillo. Dr. Brewton became an associate dentist at Amarillo Dental Associates in 2005, and she began her own practice in 2007. Her practice grew tremendously in 2009 when she purchased a practice from another local dentist. She has served various roles, including President of the Panhandle District Dental Society and an active member of TDA and ADA. Dr. Brewton’s life revolves around Tascosa Soccer with her two girls Sara and Leah and traveling to Arizona where her oldest Sam lives. She is a member of Hillside Christian Church and enjoys golf and reading in her free time.
